Upcoming Cloud Maintenance - November 5, 2023 (Resolved)
Priority - High
  • Affecting Server - stingray.poweredbyfish.net
  • We will be performing a significant software upgrade on a portion of our Houston, TX datacenter cloud environment beginning at 10:00 AM EST on Sunday November 5, 2023. During this time, all servers will be powered down while the maintenance is underway.

Powering down the servers will allow for the networks they are hosted on to be rebooted onto the new operating system version. This will result in a brief downtime for your website and email services. We anticipate the total downtime for website and email services to be approximately 120 minutes. Although it's possible that the actual downtime could be more or less than that estimation.

When restored, we expect that everything will operate exactly as they did prior to being powered down. While there is not a significant risk of data loss associated with the work that we will be performing, out of an abundance of caution we do encourage all customers to take this opportunity to make a backup of their data (to be stored offsite). If you'd like assistance from our technical support team in performing these tasks, please do not hesitate to submit a ticket and we will be more than happy to assist you.

We did previously perform a portion of these upgrades on Sunday October 29, 2023. However, due to some unforeseen technical limitations that required significant time to investigate, we were not able to complete the upgrades on our entire environment at that time.

If you have any questions related to this maintenance notification, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Thank You,

    Powered By Fish

Scheduled Maintenance April 5 - Atlanta (Resolved)
Priority - Medium
  • Affecting System - Network infrastructure
  • In an ongoing effort to maximize datacenter efficiency and reliability, we are currently in the process of physically relocating portions of our network infrastructure in our Atlanta, GA facility.

We've scheduled a portion of this migration process to occur during a 7-hour maintenance window beginning at 11:00PM EST on 4/5/2018 and ending at 6:00AM EST on 4/6/2018.
While we expect some minor disruption of service to the backend network during this time, it should be brief and intermittent and we do not expect any sustained outages. If you have any questions or concerns - or if you experience any residual issues from this event on the morning of April 6 - please let us know right away. Thanks for your patience,

  • In an ongoing effort to maximize datacenter efficiency and reliability, we are currently in the process of physically relocating portions of our network infrastructure in our Atlanta, GA facility.

We expect some minor disruption of service to the backend network during this time and have scheduled it late at night for this reason. Any downtime should be brief and intermittent and we do not expect any sustained outages.

We will be performing very minor work on the public network as well, but do not expect it to be service-impacting. If you have any questions or concerns - or if you do experience any residual issues on March 30 from this event - please let us know. Thanks,

    Kevin

Firmware upgrade to cloud storage devices (Resolved)
Priority - Low
  • We will be a performing firmware upgrade on our cloud storage devices on Wednesday, October 26th, 1AM EST. This upgrade should resolves known issues in the current firmware.

The maintenance window will take 2 hours. There should NOT be any disruption in the service during that time.

However, there is a chance for the disruption of IO operation which may happen during the failover from one controller to the slave during the reboot of each controller after the upgrade. Each reboot should not last longer than 60 seconds (1 minute).

Again, given the low risk of disruption of service along with the time of night that we will be peforming the update, we do not anticpante any impact to our clients. However, please contact us if you encounter any problems or have any questions.

Thanks for your patience during this necessary infustruture improvement that will allow us to better server your needs in the future.
